Kids Comic SuperHero Party Supplies

Calling All Superhero!!!
We have three boys which means superhero are a big deal in our family. So when we where planing our two younger sons birthday party we knew we where going to pick superhero. The problem is we couldn't pick one or even narrow between Avengers or Justice league. We love so many so I decided on the theme of Comic book. This way we didn't have to pick and both boys got whichever hero they love. When I got stared I was wondering how I was going to do this but luckily I knew where to go for ideals. Yes you all know what I'm talking about pinterest
I also went on amazon and found a few things I didn't have to make and wasn't to bad in price like
and these Cardboard Superhero Word Cutouts that I absolutely love and will be adding to there play room after the party. I also found Superhero Comics Dessert Plates and Superhero Comics Lunch Napkins.

So I have about a week left till the big party but we have finally got everything done including the photo backdrop which I made from dollar tree and thrift items. I was lucky enough to find the white felt at the thrift store for $2, yes I got 75inches by 55inches of white felt for only $2 it was in the Halloween section at goodwill. Then I used black poster board which I got at dollar tree for 69 cents each.

I needed 3 poster board but at this time of the picture I had only bought 2. For this I needed
Poster board
White color pencil
Ruler
Scissors
Yellow, Red, Blue construction paper
Glue Stick
Hot glue

I stared by drawling on one side of the poster board using a ruler and the white pencil. I found a few picture of the internet of skyscrapers to use as a reference. It took a few time to get it the way I want it but I didn't worry because no one see this side. Then I cut it out and the yellow red and blue paper to make windows.
Here you only see the yellow window and only 2 poster board.
I hot glue the poster board to the felt and I use glue stick to add the windows.
Now time for the next part the paint. I already had paint on hand, I get my paints from either hobby lobby or Walmart, there about .50 cents to a dollar.
I use yellow, light blue, gray, white and black paint.
I stared off painting a light signal with yellow, then the clouds. I out line it all with either gray or black and last I add the blue dots witch are star but it could also be the dots they have in the background of comics.

Here is a better look on the buildings

After I deiced I wanted to add comic speech bubbles. I found these on the internet by typing in comic pow, bam, zap and then printed them out. I cut them and glue them on the felt.

I hung it up in my kids play room to get a feel of how it would look

As you can see my boys lover there heroes. After I hung this up I knew it was missing more. I though it would look better with buildings around the kids. I had a lot of boxes from many things as you can see.
I bough black wrapping paper from hobby lobby is was $5 for 50 feet, plenty and I wrap the boxes like gift and cut out more construction and use glue stick to add them to the boxes.

Yes they love it. It came out better then I though it would.
I also made these utensil holder from a coffee cam and green bean can. I had left over spray paint in blue and green and spray pained them. Then I printed out blank comic bubbles and glue them to the cans, really easy but looks great. And after my boys want to use then for there pencil.

All other party supplies I got from the dollar tree but to see more you'll just have to wait and see the next blog. Hope you enjoy and give these a try.
